SLEDGING AND TOBOGGANING THE RIGHT WAY
USEFUL TIPS FOR SLEDGING
Sledging and tobogganing are popular with young and old alike. However, not all winter sports enthusiasts know how to sledge and toboggan properly. There are a few important points to bear in mind when travelling down the toboggan run so that you can enjoy the fun of tobogganing safely and without injury.
Here we at MACH provide useful tips on tobogganing and using our toboggans.
SLEDGING WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT
From beginners to experts - sledging is all about fun and safety. Before you set off on the toboggan run, you should make sure you have the right equipment to protect yourself. In addition to water-repellent clothing and gloves, we strongly recommend that you wear a helmet when sledging. Sturdy shoes are also part of the standard equipment.
BRAKING AND STOPPING WITH THE SLED
Basically, you brake with your feet. If you have a little more experience, you can also control the speed by sliding in the bends. This way, you always have the sled and the speed under control.
SLED CONTROL OF THE SLED
The BLACK HAWK allows you to sit in a comfortable, upright position for greater stability and safety while riding. The manoeuvrable body provides intuitive control. The sports sled can be steered by shifting your weight, with the steering bar or traditionally with your feet. Just the way you like it best.
WEIGHT AND CENTRE OF GRAVITY
By shifting the weight, a sled can be controlled more accurately and precisely. Correctly shifting the weight also offers an advantage when braking. The graphic below shows the correct centre of gravity both when cornering and braking
