10th Jungfraujoch - Mönchsjochhütte - summer sledging

Sledging fun at over 3657 metres above sea level.
If you don't want to miss out on the fun of tobogganing in summer, there's only one option. The highest cogwheel railway in Europe takes you from Grindelwald or Wengen to the world-famous Jungfraujoch in around an hour. The Wengeneralp Railway takes us up to Kleine Scheidegg, after which we continue on the Jungfrau Railway through a tunnel almost 10 kilometres long. We comfortably conquer over 2500 metres of altitude difference and alight at the Top of Europe, the Jungfraujoch at 3457 metres above sea level. With the sledge in hand, we begin an approximately 1-hour ascent to the Mönchsjochhütte. The path is prepared but requires good footwear. The scenery amidst the four-thousand-metre peaks is unique. At the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, we look down the Aletsch Glacier. This World Heritage Site is probably the most impressive toboggan run. After a little refreshment at the Mönchsjochhütte, the fast descent begins. The beginning and end of the route are rather flat. In contrast, the middle section has a good incline, but is not too difficult thanks to the wide track. Leaving the track is very dangerous as you are on the glacier and have to expect crevasses.
