The greatest enemy of quality is haste. That's why all MACH skis and sledges are painstakingly made by hand.

HANDMADE SKI

All MACH SKI are painstakingly handcrafted by a small manufacturer in the Italian Alps. Thanks to the classic sandwich construction, every MACH SKI carries the genes of a World Cup ski.

With our absolute commitment to quality, every MACH SKI is made from the highest quality materials. The basis is the multi-piece, cross-glued core made of Swiss wood, supported by a layer of aircraft aluminium and fibreglass. A sintered graphite racing rubber ensures smooth running and high speeds. Inspired by the sonic boom of a jet plane and reduced to the essentials, the design is simple and timelessly modern.

Construction of a World Cup ski

1. scratch-resistant, brushed polyamide surface.

2. high-strength aluminium alloy made of titanium and zirconium, analogous to aircraft production.

3. cross-laminated, multi-piece wooden core from Becker & Brakel - Germany. (ash/poplar).

4. side panel made of melamine resin and phenol.

5. lightweight plastic layer reinforced with glass fibres (GRP).

6. black, sintered graphite racing tyre made of polyethylene.

7. steel edges with hardness HRC 48-50 (from CDW Austria).

SWISS MADE - SLEDGES

The MACH BLACK HAWK sports sled is produced 100% in Switzerland. At MACH, we not only focus on sustainable production, but also support the professional and social integration of a wide range of people in the manufacture of our sledges.

Social mission in production

In Oftringen at the Wendepunkt Foundation and in the Murghof workshop in Frauenfeld, over 35% of the production costs of a BLACK HAWK sports sled are incurred. Working with different people with mental disabilities and professional and social reintegration is of central importance for our sustainable production. A lot of manual labour is involved at the social foundation Wendepunkt. All milling and painting work, as well as the entire final assembly of the sledges, takes place in Oftringen. The seat covers made of polyester fabric are produced in the Murghof canvas workshop and later transported to Oftringen for final assembly.

Swiss quality

There is a lot of Switzerland in the BLACK HAWK. The unique construction with pressed wood instead of bent wood comes from ski production and is the only one of its kind in the world. The core is made of glued beech from the German wood processing experts Becker und Brakel. Becker und Brakel is known for its stable ski cores, which are also used in all MACH SKI skis. The metal connecting parts come from the family business W.&O. Geiser AG from Roggwil. Colours and paints are supplied by Graf & Günther AG from Strengelbach.
